February 23 –
The Oberlin College women’s tennis team took two of three doubles matches, but struggled in singles play as they fell to Otterbein College 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Oberlin’s No. 2 doubles tandem of Kimiko Glynn and Marta Robertson outlasted Jena Smith and Rachel Kerr to claim an 8-6 victory. Hayden sisters, Olivia and Jane were also victorious by an 8-6 count as they defeated Sarah Jenne and Megan Anders in No. 3 doubles action.

“I was happy with our doubles play,” head coach Constantine Ananiadis said. “However, we really struggled in singles as we need to get back on the practice court and work on our mid-match adjustments.”

Oberlin’s (1-1) lone singles win came in the No. 5 position as Olivia Hayden was a 5-7, 7-5, 10-1 winner over Smith.

The Yeowomen will return home on Wednesday, Feb. 27, when Ashland University comes to town for a 6:30 p.m. match.
