Yeowomen Defeat Case Western Reserve, 8-1, For Fourth Straight Win

March 7, 2007 -- Host Oberlin defeated Case Western Reserve, 8-1, in a non-conference match-up today in the Heisman Field House. The Yeowomen improved to 4-1 overall, while the Spartans fell to 0-3.

Oberlin won all three doubles matches tonight and took five out of the six singles matches to defeat Case, including solid performances by senior Bianca Barr and sophomore Elle Anzinger in first doubles. Barr and Anzinger defeated Case's Marta Worwag and Kristin Ko, 8-3. Other doubles winners were junior Jackie Golden and sophomore Kelly Sipp, who won their second doubles match, 8-6, and sophomore Jane Hayden and teammate Olivia Hayden, who defeated Karyn Rafalke and Priya Badhwar, 8-0, in third doubles.

Singles winners for the Yeowomen included Anzinger, Golden, Sipp, Olivia Hayden, and Jane Hayden.

Oberlin will host Ohio Dominican on March 10, at 10:00 a.m. for its next match.
