Women's Tennis Team Finishes 2007 Season at North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament

April 29, 2007 -- Oberlin's North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament run and 2007 season in women's tennis came to a close this afternoon with a pair of defeats to Denison University and Ohio Wesleyan University. The Yeowomen were defeated by the Big Red, 0-5, and by the Battling Bishops, 4-5.

The contest against #1 seed Denison occurred in the NCAC semifinals. After falling to the Big Red, the Yeowomen faced Ohio Wesleyan in the consolation round. Oberlin won three singles matches against the Bishops, but it wasn't quite enough as they fell in a one-point nail-biter.

Today's matches marked the end of an illustrious career for long-time Head Coach Don Hunsinger. This season, he led the Yeowomen to a 11-11 season, including a 4-3 mark in league play. His top-winning singles player this year was sophomore Olivia Hayden, who went 13-5, including a stellar 5-1 mark in league play. Senior Bianca Barr went 9-11 at number one singles, while Jane Hayden and Kelly Sipp both won at least 10 singles matches.
