Yeowomen Slip by Mount Union College, 5-4, to Improve to 7-2 on the Year

March 20, 2007 -- With a 5-4 road win this evening over Mount Union College, the Oberlin women's tennis squad won its second straight match and improved to 7-2 overall on the year. The host Purple Raiders slipped to 7-3 with the non-conference loss.

Head Coach Don Hunsinger's Yeowomen lost four singles matches, but swept the doubles competitions en route to the narrow victory in Ada, Ohio.

Leading the way for Oberlin was sophomore Jane Hayden, who boasted a dominating 6-1, 6-2 win in sixth singles. She teamed up with twin sister Olivia to claim a 8-2 victory in third doubles. Senior Bianca Barr also won in first singles.

Oberlin will now prepare for its upcoming annual spring break trip. The Yeowomen will play three matches in Hilton Head, S.C., with the first coming on March 26 against Erskine College at 8:00 a.m. For the team's complete spring break schedule, please Click Here.
