Barr and Glynn Named to All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team

May 9 -- Sophomore Kimiko Glynn and junior Bianca Barr earned All-NCAC honors for the 2006 season.

Glynn, last year's Player and Newcomer of the year, was again chosen to the first team. In 17 matches, she compiled a 14-3 record at number one singles. Barr was named honorable mention. She put up a 6-9 record at number two singles. The two were named to the doubles first team as well. At number one doubles, the two posted an 11-5 record this season.

Women's Tennis Finishes Fifth at NCAC Championships

-- The Oberlin College women’s tennis team wrapped up the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament with a fifth place finish, defeating Allegheny College 5-3 on Saturday afternoon.

In singles competition, Kimiko Glynn defeated Carrie Miller, 6-1, 6-0. Jackie Golden won at the number three position, beating Kristyn Paone 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. At number five, Elizabeth Anzinger rolled past Amanda Bolger, 6-3, 6-0, and at number six Olivia Hayden defeated Jackie Conrad, 6-3, 6-0.

The Yeowomen ended their season 9-10 overall and 2-4 in the NCAC.

Yeowomen Wrap Up Day One of NCAC Tournament

April 28, 2006 --The Oberlin College women’s tennis team concluded day one of the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament on Friday afternoon. The Yeowomen were defeated by Wittenberg University 5-4 in the first match, but swept Earlham College 5-0 in the second match of the day.

In game one of singles competition, Sophomore Kimiko Glynn defeated Wittenberg’s Emily Okerson (6-1, 6-1). First years Elizabeth Anzinger and Olivia Hayden were also victorious, defeating their opponents 7-5, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-4 respectively. Junior Bianca Barr and senior Kate Lurain fought hard in their respective matches, both winning the first set. However, neither Yeowoman was able to defeat their Wittenberg counterpart. In doubles action, Barr and Glynn defeated Mallory Meyer and Emily Okerson 8-4. Unfortunately for the Yeowomen they were unable defeat the Tigers in the other doubles matches.

In game two, the Yeowomen swept the doubles and singles competition.

Number five Oberlin will face number six Allegheny tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.

Yeowomen Fall to Kenyon

April 25, 2006 --The Oberlin College women’s tennis team was defeated by Kenyon College, 8-1, on Tuesday evening in the Heisman Field House.

The single point came from Kimiko Glynn and Bianca Barr at number one doubles. The two won 8-2

The match wrapped up Oberlin's regular season. The team finished 8-9 overall and 3-3 in the NCAC. The team will compete in the conference championships on Saturday at Kenyon College.

Yeowomen Dominate Quakers

April 22, 2006 --The Oberlin College women’s tennis team defeated Earlham College 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at Denison University. 

Kimiko Glynn, Bianca Barr, Jackie Golden, Kelly Sipp and Olivia Hayden won in singles competition.  The Yeowomen also swept the Quakers in doubles competion. 

Oberlin will be back on the court when they play host to Kenyon College on Wednesday, April 26th.

Women's Tennis Loses Conference Match to Big Red

April 18, 2006 -- The Yeowomen dropped a match to Denison University on Tuesday evening. The Big Red defeated Oberlin, 7-2.

The two points for Oberlin came from Kimiko Glynn at number one singles and Kelly Sipp at number two singles.

The team will play Earlham College at Denison University on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Women's Tennis Prevails Over Gators

April 15, 2006 -- The Yeowomen dominated against Allegheny College and came up with a 7-2 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Oberlin swept the doubles competition. In the singles games, Kimiko Glynn, Kate Lurain, Elizabeth Anzinger and Olivia Hayden put up winning scores.

"We played really well at doubles," Head Coach Don Hunsinger said. "We've been working on that all week, and it was good to see our hard work pay off."

The team is now 7-7 overall and 2-2 in the NCAC. The Yeowomen will face Denison on Tuesday in Granville, Ohio. The match is set for 4:30 p.m.

Yeowomen Defeat Malone, 8-1

April 8, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis team beat Malone College 8-1 in non-conference action Saturday morning.

The Yeowomen won five out of six singles matches and swept the doubles competition.

Oberlin is now 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference. The team returns to action on Wednesday when they host NCAC rival Kenyon College. The match is set for 4:30 p.m.

Women's Tennis Downs College of Wooster

April 5, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis team defeated The College of Wooster 5-1 on Wednesday evening in the Heisman Field House.

At number one singles, Kimiko Glynn won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Bianca Barr won 6-1, 6-1 at number two singles, while Kelly Sipp won out at number six singles, 6-0, 6-1. Glynn and Barr teamed up at number one doubles for a win and Kate Lurain and Olivia Hayden were victorious at number three doubles.

The team hosts Malone College on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.

Women's Tennis Falls to UW-Whitewater

March 30, 2006 -- The Yeowomen were defeated by University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 7-2 on Thursday afternoon.

Kimiko Glynn won in straight sets at the number one singles spot. Glynn teamed up with Bianca Barr at the number one doubles spot for the second point.

The team wraps up spring break tomorrow afternoon against Savannah State. The match is set for 2:00 p.m.

March 29, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis team fell 9-0 against DePauw University in Hilton Head, South Carolina on Wednesday afternoon.

The Yeowomen will play their second match of their spring break trip tomorrow afternoon against Hartwick.

Yeowomen Dominate Purple Raiders

March 21, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis team defeated the Mount Union Purple Raiders 7-2 in non-conference action Tuesday evening.

At number one singles, sophomore Kimiko Glynn won 6-0, 6-1. In the second spot, sophomore Bianca Barr won 6-4, 6-1. First-year Sarah Tietelbaum won in straight sets at the number five spot, while Kelly Sipp picked up the win at the sixth spot. The squad swept in doubles competition.

"This was a great recovery from the weekend," Head Coach Don Hunsinger said. "Everyone played really well, and we're looking forward to tournament play in South Carolina."

Oberlin heads to Hilton Head, S.C. for spring break. The team takes on Luther College on Tuesday, March 28.

Tough Match for Yeowomen

March 19, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis team fell in conference play 5-4 to Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon.

In the top singles spot, Kimiko Glynn won in straight sets. Elle Anzinger and Olivia Hayden also won in two at the four and six spot in singles. Anzinger and Hayden teamed up at the third spot in doubles for a 9-8 victory as well.

The Yeowomen stand at 3-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The team will head to Hilton Head, S.C. where they will play four matches over four days.

March 18, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis team was defeated by Wittenberg University 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Kimiko Glynn won in straight sets at the number one singles spot for the Yeowomen.

Yeowomen Drop Tight Match to Walsh

March 12, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis team fell to Walsh University 5-4 on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Bianca Barr won in three sets in the top singles spot, while junior Kate Lurain won in two sets at the number two singles spot.

The Yeowomen stand at 3-3 overall. The team will play their first conference match next weekend against Wittenberg University. The contest is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in the Heisman Field House.

Women's Tennis Prevails Over Ohio Domincan

March 11, 2006 -- The Yeowomen put up a 7-2 victory on Saturday afternoon against the Panthers of Ohio Dominican.

Five out of six Yewomen were victorious in the singles matchups, while Oberlin took two out of three in doubles.

The Yeowomen will host Walsh University on March 12 at 1:00 p.m.

Yeowomen Fall to Kalamazoo

March 4, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis team fell to Kalamazoo College 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The one win came from Kimiko Glynn who won 6-0 and 6-3.

The Yeowomen will host Ohio Dominican College on March 11 at 11:00 a.m.

Tight Match Against Otterbein

February 25, 2006 -- The Oberlin College women's tennis squad fell to Otterbein College on Sunday afternoon.

Despite wins in four of the singles matches, the Yeowomen were unable to defeat the Cardinals who rallied to a 5-4 win.

Oberlin will face Kalamazoo College on Saturday, March 4 in Kalamazoo. The match is set for 12:00 p.m.

Yeowomen Crush Ashland

February 21, 2006 -- Sophomore Kimiko Glynn cruised to a pair of victories Tuesday as the Oberlin College women's tennis team bolted past Ashland University 8-1.

Glynn quickly disposed of Lauren Kuasel in the top singles slot 6-1, 6-1. She then teamed with Bianca Barr to defeat Kuasel and Michelle Maxwell 8-1 at number-one doubles. Barr also won at the second singles position.

The win moves Oberlin to 2-0 on the season. The Yeowomen travel to Otterbein on Saturday for an 11:00 a.m. matchup.

Yeowomen Defeat Baldwin-Wallace

February 18, 2006 --- The Oberlin College women's tennis team got their season off to the right start as they overcame the Yellow Jackets 5-4 on Saturday evening.

With the team's deadlocked at four, senior Kate Lurain won her match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

"We had a really rocky start," Head Coach Don Hunsinger said. "It's good for them to get this win and get their season started this way."

Oberlin hosts Ashland University on Thursday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m.
