September 5, 2007 -- Oberlin traveled to Washington and Jefferson College this evening for a non-conference women's soccer contest. After 110 minutes of strong defense from both teams, the Yeowomen and Presidents end the night in a 0-0 double-overtime tie. Oberlin's record now stands at 1-1-1.
Despite being out-shot 5-14, Head Coach Kristen Hayden's Yeowomen played an outstanding defensive game and made great adjustments at halftime to earn the tie against a solid W&J squad. Christie Zelnik earned the shutout for Oberlin after saving four shots in 110 minutes of work. W&J's Jackie Foltz had two saves.
Oberlin will play next on September 9 when it hosts Buffalo State University at 1:00 p.m.
