September 22, 2007 -- Head Coach Kristen Hayden's Yeowomen traveled to Marietta College this afternoon for a non-conference women's soccer contest. Oberlin was only out-shot 10-14, but the hosts scored a goal in each half to secure a 2-0 victory. The Yeowomen's record now stands at 2-5-1, while Marietta improved to 5-2 with the victory.
Oberlin's Sarah Grabinski saved seven shots in 90 minutes of work in goal, while Marietta's Helen Hetzel had six saves en route to the shutout win. Oberlin also boasted a 7-4 advantage in penalty corners.
The Yeowomen will return to NCAC competition on September 26 when they host Allegheny College. The match against the Gators is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. at the newly constructed Fred Shults field.
