August 31, 2007 -- Kristen Hayden's first game as head coach of the Oberlin women's soccer team couldn't have gone any better as her Yeowomen downed Manchester this afternoon, 3-0. The win vaults Oberlin into the championship game of the Tri-State Tournament tomorrow afternoon. The Yeowomen will face Marian at 1:00 p.m.
Junior forward Joelle Sesar paced Oberlin today by scoring a goal in each half. Betsy Leach added a goal late in the second half, while Amelia Jarvinen and Jessica Greenberg dished out assists. Sophomore keeper Christie Zelnik earned the win by tallying six saves in goal.
