-- The Oberlin women's soccer team opened up play at Fred Shults Field in superb fashion this afternoon as the Yeowomen defeated Buffalo State College, 1-0. With the win, the Yeowomen improved to 2-1-1 on the year, while the Bengals slipped to 1-4.
Junior forward Joelle Sesar scored the game-winner for Oberlin just over nine minutes into the contest on a fast break and one-on-one situation against a Buffalo defender. Sophomore keeper Sarah Grabinski earned the shutout win by racking up 12 saves in 90 minutes of play.
Oberlin's next game will be on September 12 when the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin-Wallace visit Fred Shults Field for a 4:30 p.m. non-conference contest.
