Senior Sam Schongalla scored her team-best ninth goal on Senior Day at Oberlin on Oct. 21
Yeowomen Edged by Wittenberg, 1-3

October 21, 2006 -- Wittenberg University handed the Oberlin women's soccer team a 1-3 loss this afternoon in the Yeowomen's final home game of the 2006 season. With the loss, Oberlin slipped to 6-10-1 (1-5 North Coast Athletic Conference), and the Tigers jumped to 11-3-2 (4-1-1 NCAC).

Senior Sam Schongalla provided the Yeowomen's lone goal on Senior Day, scoring off a pass from fellow senior Mei-Lin Ha 54:53 into the game. Wittenberg scored three times in the first 47:29 of the contest to gain the lead for good.

First-year Sarah Grabinski was again solid in goal, saving a whopping 22 shots on the day. The Tigers out-shot Oberlin 26-8 and had four corner kicks to the Yeowomen's three.

Oberlin has two games remaining this fall. On October 24, Head Coach Andy Nelson's squad will travel to Kenyon College for a 3:30 p.m. NCAC showdown. The Yeowomen will close out their season at Ohio Wesleyan University on October 28.
