September 18, 2006 -- The North Coast Athletic Conference announced that senior midfielder Sam Schongalla was named the women's soccer player of the week. Schongalla tallied five goals in three victories for the Yeowomen last week, including a hat trick and the game-winning goal in a 4-0 home win over Lake Erie College on Sept. 13.
Schongalla, a native of Alexandria, Va. (Bishop Ireton High School), scored the second goal in Oberlin's 2-0 win over Thomas More on Sept. 10 and also the second goal of the Yeowomen's 3-0 victory at Muskingum on Sept. 16.
Schongalla and the women's soccer squad will aim to keep their four-game winning streak alive when they host Marietta College tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
