October 19, 2006 -- Host Denison University prevented the Oberlin women's soccer team from extending its two-game win streak this evening by defeating the Yeowomen, 3-0, in Granville, Ohio. Three different players for the Big Red scored goals as they improved their record to 12-2 (4-1 NCAC). Oberlin fell to 6-9-1 (1-4) with the loss.
Denison out-shot Oberlin 34-3 and boasted a 19-0 advantage in corner kicks. First-year Sarah Grabinski collected 16 saves for Oberlin, which was the highest single-game total in the North Coast Athletic Conference this season. She set the previous high just two days ago (13 saves) in a 2-0 win at Allegheny College (Pa.).
Wittenberg University will visit Oberlin on October 21 (2:00 p.m.) for the Yeowomen's next contest.
