Oberlin Women's Soccer Team Topped by Adrian College, 0-1

September 6, 2006 -- In non-conference women's soccer action today in Oberlin, visiting Adrian College eked out a 1-0 win over the Yeowomen. A second-half goal by Sarah Evans 47:08 into the contest gave the Bulldogs enough to edge out the win over Oberlin, who dropped to 0-3 overall with the defeat. Adrian improved to 1-2.

For Oberlin, first-year goalkeeper Sarah Grabinski notched six saves in 45 minutes of work, while junior Leslie Mills and senior Mei-Lin Ha both had two shots on the day. Adrian's Lindsay Chitwood had six shots for Adrian, while goalkeeper Amanda House saved three shot attempts by Oberlin.

The Yeowomen rallied late in the contest and put together a string of serious scoring attempts, but the Bulldogs were able to keep the hosts off the scoreboard to earn the non-conference victory.

Adrian tallied 13 shots to Oberlin's 10 on the day, while Oberlin won the corner-kick advantage 3-2.

The Yeowomen will return to the field for non-conference action this weekend when Hanover and Thomas More visit Oberlin for the OC Classic. Saturday's game against Hanover is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m., while Oberlin and Thomas More will square off on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
