Deb Ranieri began her tenure at the helm of the Oberlin College women’s lacrosse program in
2003. With a wealth of Division III, Division I and International coaching experience on her resume, Ranieri calls upon an outstanding array of skills in leading the Yeowomen.
Prior to her stint at Oberlin, Ranieri served as the head coach for women’s lacrosse at Susquehanna University. Under her leadership, the Crusaders captured their first Middle Atlantic States Conference Championship, and earned their first trip to the NCAA Tournament. For her efforts, Ranieri was named MAC Coach of the Year in 2002.
"All of our student-athletes are encouraged to reach their full academic and athletic potential," Ranieri says. "Players choose Oberlin not only for the challenges in the classroom, but also for the chance to compete in a strong athletic program."
From 1999-2001, as the full-time assistant coach at The College of New Jersey, she helped lead the Lions to the NCAA Final Four for three-straight seasons, capturing the NCAA Division III Championship in 2000 and finishing the year with a perfect record of 17-0.
During a two-year stint at Lafayette College she helped guide the Pards towards two Patriot League Championships and a trip to the NCAA Division I Tournament in 1991.
Ranieri also serves as the Director of Women’s Lacrosse and Head Coach for USA Athletes International. Since 2002, she has taken premiere collegiate lacrosse players to the “Down Under Tournament” in Melbourne, Australia – recording second place finishes in 2002 and 2006.
When Ranieri lived in the Philadelphia area, she served as the President of the Philadelphia Women’s Lacrosse Association and was the Chairwomen for the Upper Atlantic Region, which participated in the USLacrosse National Tournament.

A native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Ranieri is a 1990 graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a bachelor ’s degree in physical education. She started for four seasons on the varsity lacrosse team, captaining the squad her senior year and winning most valuable player honors. Ranieri is also the head coach of the Oberlin field hockey team.
