Women’s Lacrosse Drops Season Finale 19-8

Final Stats

April 26 –
In their final game of the season, it was not to be for the Oberlin College women’s lacrosse team as they were defeated by Wittenberg University 19-8 on Saturday evening.

Caroline Walsh led the offense with a hat trick as she found the back of the cage three times on the night. Scarlett Prati and Taylor Fey added two goals each, while Maggie Casey added one of her own. Fey also led the game with six draw controls.

Oberlin dug itself a big whole in the first half – scoring just two goals on nine shots as it trailed 13-2 at the break. The Yeowomen matched the Tigers with six goals in the second half, but the first-half deficient proved to be too much to overcome.

Wittenberg raced out to a 5-0 lead before Walsh got the Yeowomen on the board just over 11 minutes into the game. Oberlin then went scoreless for over 16 minutes until Maggie Casey cashed in a free-position attempt.

Oberlin won the ground ball battle 21-17, but were out-shot by a 27-21 count. The Yeowomen end the year at 3-11 overall and 0-6 in the NCAC.
