Final Stats

April 16 -
With the sun shining down on a breezy afternoon, the Oberlin women’slacrosse team stepped out onto their home field looking for a turn around from the past weekend’s loss to Allegheny and they got just that be beating Washington and Jefferson 15-7 on Wednesday afternoon.

After playing in goal the last few games, senior Kaitlin Barrer stepped out of the cage to score five goals to go along with two assists and four ground balls. Casey Maggie, Caroline Walsh, Emily Chu Finkel and Scarlett Prati all added two goals each.

Oberlin started the game off strong scoring early and often in the first
half. By winning the majority of the draw controls, Oberlin was able to
set up attacking plays to get their offense rolling. Washington and Jefferson was able to pick up three goals due to their speed and agility in front of the net as OC held a 9-3 at the break.

Due to injuries on both sides, the teams finished the game without a
full lineup. Despite losing a player, Oberlin continued with pressure on both offense and defense as Washington and Jefferson’s seven goals is a season-low for any Oberlin opponent this year.

Kira Rivera controlled the cage for all 60 minutes – earning nine saves on the afternoon.

Oberlin will host Colorado College on Saturday, April 19 at noon.
