Final Stats
April 3 – The Oberlin College women’s lacrosse team triggered just six shots as they fell to SUNY-Fredonia 17-2 on Thursday afternoon.
“We really shot ourselves in the foot today,” head coach Deb Ranieri said. “It is impossible for us to win games if we don’t shoot, and we also need to do a better job on limiting our turnovers.”
Sophomore Scarlett Prati found the back of the cage in the first half, while Maggie Casey was the lone goal scorer for Oberlin in the second half.
The Yeowomen (2-5) did show great effort by winning 13 of the game’s 21 draw controls. However, they lost the groundball battle 30-14 and were out-shot 29-6.
Kira Rivera did a stout effort in the goal cage as she made six saves is 30 minutes of work.
Oberlin will look to regroup on Saturday when its hosts Ohio Wesleyan in its home opener. The first draw is set for 10 a.m.
