Final Stats

April 12 -
On another cold, grey Saturday afternoon, the Oberlin Yeowomen stepped out onto their home field to take on the Allegheny Gators. After 60 minutes of intense play and many lead changes the Yeowomen fell to the Gators 18-17.

Trailing by three, 18-15, with less than two minutes to play the Oberlin offense would not give up – winning two consecutive draw controls which lead to a pair of eight-meter goals by Beth Gula to bring the Yeowomen one step closer to overcoming the slim lead that the Gators held. Unfortunately, Allegheny gained position of the ball in the game’s final minute and was able to run out the clock to escape with the win.

Early in the first half both teams came out flying and scored one goal after the other. Despite the strong winds and cold rain, both teams remained focused, never letting up on the intensity of their play. First-year Taylor Fey and sophomore Scarlett Prati were both dominating forces on the attacking line, scoring five and four goals respectively, and both won seven draws a piece.

Junior Maggie Casey also had one of her best games of the season - scoring on three of four free-position opportunities that she had - contributing a total of four goals in the game. Senior Kaitlin Barrer controlled the cage, earning nine saves while directing the OC defense.

Oberlin will play host to Washington and Jefferson on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
