Yeowomen Down Rochester, 74-58

November 17, 2007 -- The Oberlin women's basketball team notched its first win of the 2007-2008 season today by defeating Rochester, 74-58, in the consolation game of the Hope College (Mich.) Tournament. With the victory, the Yeowomen are now 1-1 on the young season.

Oberlin was led tonight by Alicia Smith's 28 points on 7-10 shooting from three-point range. Senior Roneisha Kinney also had a monster game for the Yeowomen, scoring 17 points, pulling down 14 rebounds, and blocking four shots. Alyssa Clark also added 10 points, nine boards, and five assists.

Rochester was paced in the loss by Sarah Wilhoit's 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Yeowomen will host their first contest of the 07-08 campaign on November 20 when John Carroll visits Philips Gymnasium for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
