December 14-- Bluffton University connected on 14 three-pointers Friday night en route to a 78-53 win over Oberlin College in women's basketball.
Oberlin started the game with five turnovers in its first eight possessions. Bluffton built a 26-9 advantage less than 10 minutes into the contest on the strength of a 13-0 run. The Yeowomen never moved closer than 14 down the rest of the way.
"We had too many unforced errors," Head Coach Christa Champion said. "You cannot make those mistakes when the other team shoots the ball as well as they did."
Senior Roneisha Kinney and sophomore Liz Thompson each scored 10 points for Oberlin. The Beavers were paced by 17 points and seven rebounds from Angie Lee.
The Yeowomen drop to 1-7 overall. Oberlin resumes play after the new year with a January 2 home contest against Marietta College.
