February 3, 2007 -- First-year shooting guard Monica Zell nearly matched her career high with 14 points tonight at Kenyon, but the Ladies outrebounded Oberlin 51-32 and made 13 three-pointers en route to a 75-57 North Coast Athletic Conference win in Gambier, Ohio. The Yeowomen's record falls to 5-16 overall and 1-12 in league play, while Kenyon jumps to 10-11 (7-5 NCAC).

After a free throw by senior captain Jessie Oram with 7:41 left in the first period, Head Coach Christa Champion's squad boasted a 26-19 lead. Back-to-back triples by Kenyon's Anne Dugan inspired a 17-4 run to help the home team take a 36-30 lead into the intermission.

The Yeowomen stayed within striking distance for most of the second half, but the Ladies refused any attempt by Oberlin to make a serious threat. Kenyon outscored the Yeowomen 39-27 in the second period, including eight three-pointers, to coast to the 18-point conference win.

Zell finished the contest with four triples and a team-high 14 points to go along with a pair of assists and three steals. Junior forward Roneisha Kinney collected 12 points and seven rebounds, while Oram netted 10 points and pulled down six boards. Sophomore Alyssa Clark just missed out on a double-double with 11 rebounds, nine points, and four assists, and classmate Kira Rivera picked up a game-high five steals. First-year Liz Thompson also shot well for Oberlin, accumulating eight points in only 11 minutes of action.

Kenyon's Dugan led all scorers with 19 points, including four treys, and also racked up five assists, six rebounds, and three steals. Also netting four treys was Alisha Moreno, who scored 14 points and dished out five assists. Hilary Gowins added 15 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.

Oberlin will aim to get back into the win column on February 7 when it treks to Hiram College for a 7:30 p.m. NCAC contest at Price Gymnasium.
