Women's Basketball Squad Bested by Earlham College, 57-72

January 20, 2007 -- Last year's leading scorers in the North Coast Athletic Conference, senior captain Jessie Oram and sophomore Alyssa Clark, both scored a team-high 13 points in today's league game at Earlham (Richmond, Ind.), but the host Quakers led the entire 40 minutes of play to claim a 72-57 win. Oberlin fell to 5-10 (1-7 NCAC), while Earlham improved to 3-14 (2-6 NCAC).

For the Yeowomen, first-year Monica Zell added nine points, all on triples, while junior Roneisha Kinney and sophomore Kira Rivera both contributed six points. Additionally, in just 14 minutes of action, first-year Alicia Smith netted seven points. Clark and Rivera both picked up a game-high three steals, while Kinney boasted a team-high nine rebounds.

Earlham was paced by Tasha Merrill and Shontavia, who both scored 21 points on the day.

Head Coach Christa Champion's Yeowomen will have little to rest, as they will travel to LaRoche College on Monday evening for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference game in Pittsburgh, Pa.
