-- The Oberlin College volleyball team traveled to nearby The College of Wooster this evening looking to win its second straight match in the North Coast Athletic Conference victory. The Fighting Scots defeated the Yeowomen, though, 3-1.
Wooster got off to a quick start, winning the first game, 30-24. Oberlin played well in the final two frames, but was edged 28-30 and 26-30.
First-year Melissa DeLombaert led the Yeowomen with three blocks and five kills, while classmate Maggie Jacobson had 1.5 blocks and 16 kills.
Oberlin will quickly return to action tomorrow when it treks to Thiel College (Pa.) for a pair of matches against Chatham College and host Thiel. The Yeowomen will face Chatham at 1:00 p.m. and Thiel at 3:00 p.m. On October 24, Oberlin will return to NCAC action by hosting rival Denison University at 7:00 p.m.
