The Oberlin volleyball team traveled south to Springfield,
Ohio, tonight for a North Coast Athletic Conference
volleyball match against Wittenberg University.
Ranked second in the nation, the host Tigers defeated
the Yeowomen in three games, 30-10, 30-12, and 30-15,
to stay unbeaten at 25-0 (9-0 NCAC). Oberlin's record
slipped to 3-15 overall and 0-9 in league play with
the defeat.
Wittenberg got off to quick starts in each of the
three games and out-served the Yeowomen en route to
the 3-0 victory. The Yeowomen were led by first-year
Maggie Jacobson, who hit .200 for the match, and sophomore
Rita Kaplon, who had a pair of aces.
The Tiger were paced in the win by Amy Cox (eight
kills) and Kendall Obreza (25 assists).
Oberlin will travel to Earlham College tomorrow afternoon
for an NCAC match in Richmond, Ind. |
