-- Oberlin's volleyball team traveled south this evening to face North Coast Athletic Conference opponent Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. The Yeowomen hoped to avenge a loss from earlier this season against the Tigers, but after a tightly played first game, the hosts cruised to a 3-0 conference victory.
Oberlin's record slips to 5-18 overall and 0-12 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg jumped to 23-6 overall and a perfect 12-0 in conference play.
"We created opportunities for ourselves at times and we just weren't able to capitalize on them," Head Coach Carey Cavanaugh said. "But we're taking the right steps necessary to give ourselves a chance to keep improving."
The Yeowomen will remain on the road tomorrow when they voyage to Richmond, Ind. to face NCAC foe Earlham College. The match with the Quakers is slated to commence at noon.
