Junior Deysi Villarreal had 11 kills and 17 digs against the Quakers on Oct. 21
Yeowomen Defeated by Earlham College, 0-3 (21-30, 17-30, 28-30)

October 21, 2006 -- Oberlin's volleyball team was beaten by host Earlham College this afternoon, 0-3 (21-30, 17-30, and 28-30). The Yeowomen slipped to 5-19 (0-13 North Coast Athletic Conference) with the defeat, while Earlham improved to 13-12 (4-9 NCAC).

First-year setter Rita Kaplon had an outstanding game for the Yeowomen, as she tallied 13 kills with just one hitting error. She also had 15 assists and seven digs against the Quakers. Junior Deysi Villarreal also put up solid numbers in the NCAC contest in Richmond, Ind., as she had 11 kills, 16 assists, one block assist, and 17 digs.

Earlham was led in the win by Lisa Vanderkolk, who had 14 kills, nine digs, and one block assist.

The Yeowomen will look to bounce back in a NCAC contest at Denison University on October 25. The match against the Big Red is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
