Final Results
February 22 - The Oberlin College track and field teams each finished in third place on Friday night at the Greater Cleveland Indoor Meet on the campus of Baldwin-Wallace College.
“This was a great tune-up for the conference meet,” head coach Ray Appenheimer said. “We did a lot of good things tonight, and I expect us build off of this for the NCAC Championship Meet next weekend.
The Yeowomen tallied 108.5 points to earn their third-place finish.
Senior Chisara Nwabara had a great all-around day for Oberlin – finishing second in the long jump with a mark of 16-03. She also checked in third the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.22 and ended in fifth place in the 55-meter hurdles (9.83).
Fellow Senior Christa Wagner touched the tape first in the women’s 500-meter dash with a mark of 1:21.83.
First-year Amanda Miller picked up eight points for the Yeowomen in the 400-meter dash as she finished in second place – clocking in at 1:02.86
The Yeomen tallied 81 points to earn their third-place finish in the eight-team field.
Ryan King improved on his own school record in the 1,000 meter run as he was victorious in 2:33.83.
Conor Doss also completed the mile run in 4:26.61 to earn a first-place finish.
Senior Cassius Harris cleared 21-06 in the long jump to finish in second place, while teammate Anthony Osei followed behind in third with a mark of 21-02.75.
Oberlin will continue its quest for an NCAC Championship starting on Friday, Feb. 29 on the campus of Denison University.
