Game One Box l Game Two Box
April 10 – Julia Chauvin hit her second homerun of the season, but it wasn’t enough as the Oberlin College softball team fell to Notre Dame College 9-1 and 15-1 on Thursday afternoon.
Chauvin, who belted the long-tripper to leadoff the fourth inning, finished 2-for-3 in the game and finished 3-for-5 on the day. Sophie Schact also added two hits in her three trips to the plate in game one.
Chauvin’s long-ball made it just a 2-1 game in favor of NDC, but the Falcons responded with a run in the fifth and six in the sixth to put things out of reach.
In game two, the Yeowomen were plagued by one big inning that decided their fate. OC jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Michelle Zanni led off the game with a double and later scored on a double to center field by Ruth Allanbrook.
Unfortunately, the OC bats went quite the rest of the way, while the Falcons used a 15-run third to secure the win.
Oberlin will hope to finally have its home opener on Saturday when it plays host to Kenyon in an NCAC doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. |
