Game One Box l Game Two Box
April 17 - Kenyon College used strong pitching and excellence difference to sweep the Oberlin College Yeowomen, 7-0 and 9-1, on Thursday afternoon.
The OC (0-23, 0-8 NCAC) offense managed three hits in game two, after being no-hit in game one by Brittany Vanegas.
In the nightcap, Kenyon jumped out a 2-0 lead to start the first inning, but Oberlin responded with a run of its own as Julia Chauvin came through with a two-out RBI double to center field that scored Sophie Schact all the way from first after she reached on an infield hit.
Unforutnately, the Ladies bounced back with one run in third and five in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
In game one, Vanegas was simply lights out as she fanned six batters and faced just two more than the minimum – walking two hitters through her seven innings of work.
Oberlin will complete its action packed week on Saturday at 1 p.m. when conference foe Wittenberg comes to town for a doubleheader.
