Oberlin vs. Coe Box Score l Oberlin vs. Transylvania Box Score

March 1 – Stepping on a field for the first time this spring due to the horrific Northeast Ohio weather, the Oberlin College softball team dropped a split double-header against Coe College and Transylvania University in Centre, Ky. on Saturday.

“Obviously this was extremely tough for us, having not stepped foot on a field until today,” head coach Adrienne Davis said. “However, it was good to get our feet wet and now we need to get ready for tomorrow.”

Coe College, which is ranked 14th in the country, displayed their dominance in game one with a 27-1 victory.  Junior Michelle Zanni plated Oberlin’s lone run with an RBI double.

In the nightcap, the Yewomen fell 14-3 to the Pioneers of Transylvania. Ruth Allanbrook had an RBI triple, and first-year Scarlet Woodrick added an RBI double in the game.

Oberlin will take on Wilmington College tomorrow at 10 a.m., before battling the host school, Centre College at 12:30 p.m.
