Softball Defeated by Kenyon College, 0-10 and 1-19

April 13, 2007 -- Visiting Kenyon College (10-10, 3-1 NCAC) got the best of Oberlin (1-14, 0-4 NCAC) today in a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader at Mary Culhane Field, 10-0 and 19-1. The Kenyon Ladies utilized 29 hits and four home runs in the two contests to notch the wins.

Oberlin was led today by Spencer McCaffrey, who had two hits and a stolen base. In game two, Ruth Allanbrook added a run batted in, while McCaffrey scored the Yeowomen's lone run.

Kenyon was paced by Ellen Witkowski and Annie Brobst. Witkowski had four hits, a home run, and six runs batted in, while Brobst racked up six hits, a homer, and three RBI's.

On the mound in game one, Oberlin's Sophie Simon-Ortiz went the distance yielding only four earned runs, while Jennifer Sees took the loss in game two for the Yeowomen.

Oberlin will return to action on Sunday by hosting Ohio Wesleyan University for a NCAC twinbill set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
