Adam Shoemaker was named the head men's tennis coach in 2006 after serving as an assistant for the men's and women's teams for nine seasons. A 1996 graduate of Oberlin, Shoemaker played number one singles and doubles for the tennis squad under the direction of Coach Hunsinger. He also works as the special assistant to the athletics director for student-athlete recruitment and serves as the on-court director of the Oberlin Tennis camp.
The Minford, Ohio, native assists head coach Blake New with the men's soccer program in the fall. A standout goalkeeper for the Yeomen during his undergraduate days, Shoemaker also kicked for the Oberlin football team. He holds a master's degree in American studies from the University of Alabama. |

John Erikson began his tenure as an assistant coach wtih the Oberlin College men's and women's tennis programs in 2004. A 1961 Oberlin graduate and member of the John W. Heisman Club Hall of Fame, Erikson starred in tennis, basketball, and football for the Yeomen.
Both of his sons, Carl and Erik, played tennis for Oberlin. Erikson served as the Heisman Club's President in 2004-2006 and is still very actively involved in the organization's development and success. He and his wife, Margaret, reside in Oberlin.
