No. 11 Kenyon Takes Out Oberlin, 8-1

April 23 – In their final regular-season match of the season, the Oberlin College men's tennis team didn’t have much luck as they were defeated by No. 11 Kenyon 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Don Hunsinger Courts.

In their final regular season home match of their respective careers, seniors Ezra Goldman and Chris Pray partnered to play at No. 2 doubles – beating the tandem of Robert Alef and William VandenBerg by an 8-5 count.

In singles play, David Midler pushed Jeremy Polster to the brink in their first set at No. 2, but eventually fell 7-5 and was defeated 6-1 in the second set.

Tom Page, the third senior member of the Yeomen also challenged Charlie Brody to the end. After dropping the first set 6-1, Page forced the second set to a tiebreak before eventually succumbing to a 7-6 (7-5) defeat.

Pray, Page and Goldman were all honored for their career achievements before the match.

Oberlin will now play host to the NCAC Men’s Tennis Championships on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27. In conjunction with the men’s tournament, Oberlin is also hosting the women’s champions which will get underway on Friday, April 25 at 9 a.m.
