April 16, 2007 -- The
Oberlin College men's tennis team fell this evening
to Denison University, 1-5, in an North Coast Athletic Conference contest. With the defeat, the Yeomen fell to 7-12 overall (2-3 NCAC), while the Big Red improved to 8-4 overall (4-0 NCAC). The Yeomen fell in all three doubles matches, but took one of the six singles matches. Three singles matches ended unfinished.
The Yeomen were led by junior Chris Pray, who defeated the Denison's Randy Lofgren, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(3), in first singles. With the victory, Pray improved to 11-7 in singles play on the year.
Oberlin returns to action on April 21, when it hosts Earlham College. The match is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Heisman Field House.
