April 3, 2007 -- The
Oberlin College men's tennis team lost this evening
to the College of Wooster in a tight conference
battle, 4-5. With the defeat, the Yeomen fell to 7-6 overall (2-1 NCAC), while the Fighting Scots improved to 9-3 overall (3-0 NCAC). The Yeomen took two of the three doubles matches, but fell in four of the six singles matches in the defeat.
The Yeomen were led by sophomore David Midler, who defeated the College of Wooster's Dave Albrechta, 6-2, 7-6(7), in second singles. Also in singles, junior Colin Burling defeated Jeremy Dominik, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles action, junior Chris Pray and Burling defeated Wooster's Sam Hickey and Albrechta, 8-2, while senior Arthur Zeyda and junior Tom Page defeated Joe Chamberlin and Dominik, 8-6.
Oberlin returns to action on Friday April 6, when it hosts Allegheny College. The match is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Heisman Field House.
