Oberlin and Wooster Fight to 0-0 Draw

October 3, 2007 -- Head Coach Blake New's Oberlin men's soccer team voyaged to nearby Wooster this afternoon to face the Fighting Scots in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest. Both Oberlin and Wooster entered the game looking to earn their second league win of the year, but after 110 minutes of touch competition, the contest ended in a 0-0 double-overtime draw.

The Yeomen (6-3-3, 1-1-1 NCAC) were narrowly out-shot by the Fighting Scots (5-4-1, 1-1-1 NCAC), 9-10, but held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. First-year Zach Lipshultz earned his fifth shutout of the season for Oberlin, saving three shots in 110 minutes of action in goal. Patryk Tenorio and Jordan O'Boyle combined for the Wooster shutout.

Oberlin's next game is on Saturday at Earlham College. The NCAC showdown against the Quakers is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
