September 9, 2007 -- The Oberlin men's soccer team received its first loss of the season today, falling to the Rochester Institute of Technology, 0-1. With the defeat, the Yeomen's record slips to 3-1-1 on the year.
Oberlin out-shot RIT 7-6 and the teams battled through 81 scoreless minutes until Rochester's Allen Nicholson scored off a cross from Daniel Holowaty. The Yeomen's goalkeeper, first-year Zach Lipshultz, saved one shot in 90 minutes of action. Sophomore Skyler Dum had two shots for Oberlin.
Three Yeomen were selected to the Allegheny All-Tournament team. Junior Kyle Taljan, sophomore Skyler Dum, and first-year Wyatt Hayman received the recognition for their outstanding performances during the weekend's two games.
The Yeomen will host Baldwin-Wallace on September 11 for their next game.
