Hoffman Lead Men's Soccer Past Otterbein College, 1-0

September 15, 2007 -- Led by junior forward Luke Hoffman's team-leading sixth goal of the season, the Oberlin men's soccer team blanked Otterbein College this afternoon, 1-0. With the non-conference win, the Yeomen are now 4-1-2 on the year. The Cardinals slipped to 3-3 with the loss.

Hoffman scored off a pass from sophomore Dan Jaffe 39 minutes into the contest to secure the win for Oberlin. The Yeomen out-shot the Cardinals, 13-11, and also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. First-year goalkeeper Zach Lipshultz saved five shots en route to securing his third shutout of the season. Oberlin now hasn't lost at home for 13 straight games.
