Four Yeomen Named All-North Coast Athletic Conference

by Erik Kojola '09

November 15, 2007 -- Following a vote by North Coast Athletic Conference coaches, four Oberlin men’s soccer players were named to the 2007 All-NCAC team.  The squad finished with seven victories, including wins over two of the conference's top four teams.

Junior defender Kyle Taljan (North Ridgeville, Ohio/St. Ignatius) was the lone Yeomen named to the first team.  Taljan was a dynamic player in the back for the Yeomen as he thwarted opposing attackers and helped lead Oberlin’s offense.  He finished with one goal and one assist on the season.

Sophomore forward Skyler Dum (Milford, Md./Detroit Catholic Central) earned second team honors.  Dum was a dangerous threat up top and finished the season with three goals, second on the team, along three assists.

Junior midfielder Mike Mullaley (Portland, Ore./Grant) and first-year defender Wyatt Hayman (Belvedere, Calif./Marin Academy) were named honorable mention.  Mullaley was an important playmaker and all-around player in the midfield. He finished the season with one assist.  Hayman had a tremendous rookie season and was a stalwart for the Yeomen defense.
