-- John Lindner, a junior midfielder for the Oberlin men's soccer team, was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week after leading the Yeomen past Wittenberg University this past Saturday. Lindner scored the game-winner to give Oberlin 2-1 triumph over the Tigers, who entered the contest ranked 14th in the nation.
With less than seven minutes left in a 1-1 tied match against Wittenberg, Lindner, a native of Hanover Park, Ill. (Glenbard North High School), controlled an unsettled ball in the box and slammed in the game-winning goal for the Yeomen. He will look to lead Oberlin past Hiram College on October 20 at 2:00 p.m.
