-- Kenyon College visited Oberlin this afternoon for a North Coast Athletic Conference men's soccer contest at Fred Shults Field. The Yeomen put up a valiant effort against the Lords; however, the visitors were able to score eight minutes into the second overtime to secure a 1-0 victory over the Yeomen.
After the loss, Oberlin's record stands at 7-7-3 overall and 2-5-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Kenyon improved to 13-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 against league competition with the road victory.
John Lindner led the Yeomen's attack with two shots in the contest. Kenyon was led by Miguel Barrera, who scored the game-winning goal and had a team-high four shots.
Derrick Bean had five saves in goal for Oberlin, while Kenyon's Jamie White claimed the shutout win with three saves in 108 minutes of work.
Oberlin will close out its 2007 season on Saturday when it hosts Wabash College for a 12:00 p.m. NCAC showdown at Fred Shults Field.
