August 31, 2007 -- Head Coach Blake New and the Oberlin men's soccer team won their inaugural contest at Fred Shults Field this afternoon, downing Heidelberg College, 2-0. Both teams played to a 0-0 tie at halftime, but goals by Evan Atwell (John Lindner assist) and Luke Hoffman propelled the Yeomen to the non-conference win over the Student Princes.

In the nightcap of day one of the OC Classic, Lake Erie College defeated The College of Wooster, 3-1. Oberlin will host Lake Erie on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., while Heidelberg and Wooster will square off at 3:30 p.m.
