Sam Zackheim (Jr.) |
-- Two Oberlin men's soccer players, senior Zach Tesler and junior Sam Zackheim, were recently named to the Jewish Sports Review's All-America Team. The honor is another one of many for the two Yeomen, who both received All-North Coast Athletic Conference accolades this season.
Tesler, a defender, was recently named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Great Lakes All-Region Team. A tri-captain for Head Coach Blake New, Tesler was named first team All-NCAC on November 16 after finishing second on the team in goals (six) and points (12).
Zackheim received first team All-NCAC honors for the second straight season at the midfield position, leading the Yeomen with seven goals and 15 points. He finished the season tied for third in the conference with 0.38 goals per game.
The duo led the Yeomen to their second-straight NCAC playoff appearance this season, as Oberlin finished the 2006 campaign with a record of 8-5-5 overall and 5-2-2 in conference play. Tesler, Zackheim, and the Yeomen were undefeated at home this year (5-0-3). |
