Heidelberg and Oberlin Men's Soccer Teams Battle to 0-0 Tie
Yeomen out-shoot Student Princes 19-5 in double-overtime draw

September 2, 2006 -- Heidelberg College visited Oberlin College this afternoon for a rainy and chilly non-conference contest. In a well-played game by both teams, 90 minutes of regulation and two-overtime periods weren't enough to settle the score as the Yeomen and Student Princes ended the day in a 0-0 tie.

Both squads' goalkeepers put together outstanding games. Oberlin's Clayton Combe (Sr.) saved four shots on the day, while Heidelberg's Jared Kealy stopped seven Yeomen shot attempts. Oberlin won the corner kick advantage 7-2 and out-shot Heidelberg 19-5.

Oberlin was victorious yesterday in another nail-biter, edging Lake Erie College 1-0, and today's tie with the Student Princes puts the team's record at 1-0-1. Heidelberg's mark now stands at 0-1-1.

On September 6, the Yeomen will leave for their first road contest of the year, a 7:00 p.m. contest under the lights at Mount Union College.
