-- In their final game of the 2007 men's lacrosse season, the Yeomen (3-10, 0-5 NCAC) trekked to Gambier, Ohio, today to square off against Kenyon College (12-1, 3-1 NCAC). Five different Yeomen tallied goals in the North Coast Athletic Conference contest, but the Lords were able to jump out to an early 6-0 lead and hold off the Yeomen, 17-5.
Senior quad-captains Ian Mark and Bryan Harfenist both netted goals in their final games in the crimson and gold. Sophomore midfielder Derry Kiernan and classmate Erik Kojola both had solid games as well, scooping up four and three ground balls, respectively.
Junior Drew Zambelli saved 19 shots in goal for the Yeomen, while first-year Josh Frank also saved five shots in one quarter of play.
Kenyon was led today by the duo of Adam Toltzis and Devin Catlin, who both notched three goals.
The future looks bright for the Yeomen, as a pair of first-years paced the team in points scored. Alex Jacobs scored 21 goals and passed for a team-best 16 assists this season, while classmate Erik Strand racked up a team-high tying 26 goals and also dished out six assists. Harfenist finished the season with 26 goals, while Mark reached the back of the net 12 times. Another first-year, attacker Nick Sherman, finished fourth on the team in points with 21 goals and three assists.
