March 5 – Oberlin College basketball players Mike Loll and Roneisha Kinney were named to the All-NCAC second-team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Loll, a 6-foot-5 junior led the Yeomen in scoring (363/14.5 ppg), rebounding (174/7.0 rpg) and assists (64/2.46 apg) during the 2007-08 campaign.
The Davidson, Mich. native averaged 17.7 points-per-game in conference play, which was third best in the league. On Feb. 20, he surpassed the 1,000th-point plateau for his career against Ohio Wesleyan.
Last year as a sophomore, Loll was an NCAC honorable-mention selection.
Since transferring from Division I Winthrop, Kinney has done nothing but shine in the OC crimson and gold. This season she led the Yeowomen in points (290/11.2 ppg), rebounds (235/9.0 rpg), field goal percentage (.453/120-of-265) and blocks (25/.96 bpg).
The Cleveland, Ohio product and former Rhodes High School standout’s nine boards per game were tops in the league. She also eclipsed the 500-point mark for her two-year career against OWU (Feb. 20) in a 15-point, 13-rebound performance.
Kinney scored in double-figures 14 times and tallied six doubles-doubles on the year.
