Mike Loll (So.)
Oberlin Bested by Denison University, 48-75

January 10, 2007 -- A 20-35 first-half deficit was too much for the Oberlin men's basketball team to overcome this evening as the Yeomen (2-12, 1-4 NCAC) dropped a 48-75 North Coast Athletic Conference road contest to Denison University. Two Yeomen reached double figures in scoring, led by sophomore forward Mike Loll's team-high 15 points and five rebounds. Junior guard Matt Godwin added 11 points and three assists in the conference defeat.

The Big Red (2-11, 1-4 NCAC) were led tonight by Dan Hodgkinson, who netted a game-high 27 points by shooting 10-16 from the floor and 7-7 from the charity stripe. Dan Izzo also contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds for Denison. The hosts held a 40-23 rebounding advantage over the Yeomen.

"Tonight was a great example of how you have to play tough, physical basketball when you're on the road in the North Coast Athletic Conference," Head Coach Isaiah Cavaco said. "We need to learn from tonight's mistakes and have two strong practices before we host Kenyon on Saturday."

The contest against the Lords on Saturday is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
