Oberlin Golf Completes NCAC Championships

The Oberlin College golf team fired off 1,068 strokes over three rounds to place ninth at the NCAC Golf Championships over the weekend.

Matthew Aucunas led the Yeomen with a 34th-place finish. The sophomore from Chicago, Ill. carded in a three-round total of 257 (84-80-83) on the par-71, 6,559-yard Granville Golf Course.

Junior D.J. Maynard checked in second on the OC scorecard as he recorded 265 (89-87-89) strokes to end tied for 38th place. Senior Saul Flores was just four shots back of Maynard with 269 (89-91-89) total swings.

Sam Zackheim (283 = 98-98-87) finished 43rd and Austin Richards (295= 93-97-105) ended 44th to round out the Oberlin lineup.

Ohio Wesleyan University won the even with a team total of 887 (294 -295 -298). Jesse Chiero of OWU claimed medalist honors with a 54-hole total of 220 (74-72-74).
