April 22, 2007 -- In their final tune-up before the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Wooster, the Oberlin men's golf team finished competition today at the two-day Ohio Wesleyan Invitational. The Yeomen placed 17th in the event at the Oakhaven Golf Course, which has a par of 71 and a distance of 6,771 yards.
Oberlin was led in the Lamkin Strimer Memorial Invitational by first-year Matt Aucunas, who scored a 166 and finished tied for 83rd overall. Matt Standeven was the second-best scorer for the Yeomen, as he totaled a 184 for 36 holes.
Head Coach Blake New's squad will travel to The College of Wooster on May 4-5 for the NCAC Championships.
