Chase Palmer Named NCAC Defensive Player of the Week

October 4, 2007 -- Chase Palmer, a senior safety from Highland, Utah, was named the North Coast Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week after last week's 49-14 drubbing of visiting Hiram College.

In his first game after switching from free safety to strong safety, Palmer led the Yeomen's defense against the Terriers with nine tackles (0.5 for loss), a fumble recovery, five pass breakups, and a quarterback hurry.

Palmer currently leads the Yeomen and all NCAC defensive backs in tackles (37), and is also first in the conference in passes defended and pass breakups (8). Last season, he led Oberlin and all league defensive backs with 106 tackles.
